Commodity Watch: Zinc futures rise on increased turnover

New Delhi: Zinc prices rose 80 paise to Rs 298.15 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for December delivery traded 0.27 per cent higher in a turnover of 2,535 lots.
The widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher.
Copper futures gain on higher demand
Copper futures rose 0.38 per cent to Rs 1,014.60 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for December delivery grew Rs 3.80 or 0.38 per cent to Rs 1,014.60 per kg in a business turnover of 3,519 lots.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose 55 paise to Rs 268.70 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in December increased 0.21 per cent in 2,988 lots.
